Socialising your pet the safe way
Confident pets come from gentle early experiences. Here's how to introduce the world without overwhelm.
What socialisation means
It's not just "meeting other animals" — it's exposing your pet calmly to sounds, surfaces, people, and places so the world feels safe, not scary.
For puppies (the critical window: 3–14 weeks)
- Introduce one new experience per day: a vacuum sound, a bicycle, a friendly stranger.
- Reward calm curiosity. Don't force contact.
- Wait for full vaccination before dog parks, but carry them in your arms to see the world sooner.
