Friendly, food-motivated, and endlessly eager — Labs are the classic first dog, with a few things to manage.
Temperament
Labs are outgoing, gentle, and loyal. They love people, kids, and usually other dogs. Their default setting is happy to see you.
Exercise
- 1–2 hours daily as adults.
- Retrieving games (fetch, swimming) are both exercise and joy.
- A bored Lab is a destructive Lab — mental enrichment matters.
